Biography
Susan
Woods, MSW, LICSW, has been a psychotherapist
since 1989 and has been practicing yoga and meditation since 1981.
Prior to her career in psychotherapy, Ms. Woods was a physiotherapist
in the UK specializing in orthopedics.
Ms. Woods has taught the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programs in hospitals, corporations and out-patient settings. She continues to teach MBSR and MBCT programs and is a MBSR teacher at the Center for Mindfulness, at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA.
Ms. Woods trains health care professionals in mindfulness-based approaches and teaches Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy professional training programs nationally and internationally. She has provided consultation and supervision for clinical studies utilizing Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. She is a contributing author to the "Clinical Handbook of Mindfulness", to be published in the fall of 2008.
